Job description
As Head of Business Development Asia, you will lead the external growth agenda of Limagrain Vegetable Seeds across key Asian markets.
This position is based in Asia, preferably in Bangkok.
Your mission is to identify strategic business opportunities, develop partnerships, and support targeted acquisitions that strengthen our market presence.
You will work closely with regional teams and the Executive Committee to shape and execute our growth roadmap. This position reports to the Global Head of Strategic Development for Vilmorin Mikado.
Main Goal
Your main missions will include the following :
Drive External Growth
- Build and nurture a high-quality external network of local seed companies across Asia.
- Identify acquisition targets—full companies, assets, or germplasm—aligned with business priorities.
- Propose and structure partnerships that complement our portfolio or enhance market access.
Lead the Asia External Growth Task Force
- Chair and animate the task force dedicated to external growth initiatives.
- Define clear objectives, coordinate activities, assign responsibilities, and ensure progress reporting.
- Remove roadblocks by bringing solutions, insights, and business recommendations.
Build & Secure Business Opportunities
- Develop robust business cases in collaboration with local marketing teams and the central M&A team.
- Lead negotiations, manage Non-Binding Offers, coordinate due diligence, and drive deals to closure.
- Monitor and report on key business development indicators to ensure alignment with objectives.
What we expect of you
You are a seasoned and impactful leader with a genuine curiosity for exploring new opportunities. You bring strong experience in the seeds industry and business development, and you understand the key financial and profitability drivers, including the fundamentals of M&A and how such processes typically unfold. Experience with joint ventures is a plus.
