Purpose of the job

As Head of the America Unit – Vilmorin-Mikado, you will define and lead the commercial and strategic development of the Business Unit across North and South America.

This is a key leadership role, accountable for growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction, while ensuring strong alignment with global strategy and effective coordination of all local and regional functions.

 

This role is based in Querétaro, Mexico.

Job missions

  • Define, propose, and execute the strategy and objectives of the America Unit in line with Business Unit priorities
  • Drive commercial performance across the region: turnover, market share, margins, ROP, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead and coordinate all BU functions within the region, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and R&D
  • Oversee the full commercial cycle: product launches, market development, distribution models, pricing, trading conditions, and customer relationships
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to support decision-making
  • Structure and lead governance within the Unit, ensuring effective communication, forecasting, and reporting
  • Develop and steer multi-year strategic plans, annual budgets, sales forecasts, and expense monitoring
  • Represent the company externally and legally for one or more subsidiaries within the scope
  • Act as a strategic partner to global Sales leadership and contribute to cross-unit collaboration within Vilmorin-Mikado

You are also able to unite multiple stakeholders, foster collaboration, and drive alignment within matrixed, global organizations.

 

You bring:

  • A strong track record in the seed industry, with extensive experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Proven experience managing international, multicultural teams and coordinating multiple functions
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to drive profitable growth and sound decision-making
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to define priorities, monitor KPIs, and steer performance
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability, and comfort operating in fast-moving environments
  • Fluency in English. Spanish would be a plus.

 

This role requires regular travel across the Americas and internationally to support business development and team leadership.
