Vilmorin-Mikado is specialized in the creation, production and marketing of vegetable and tree seeds and is entirely dedicated to agricultural professionals.

As a part of the Marketing team, you will be asked to support the growth of Bean, Pea and Sweet corn by recommending and managing the global strategy and development on your perimeter.

 

Job description

Crop Strategy

  • To orientate our research programs: to recommend the crop strategies and ensure its execution across the Business Unit (ambition and market share targets; direction for marketing, research, seed tech and development; action plans, follow-up and corrective actions).
  • To define the strategic markets and the product profile.
  • To animate Development and Sales teams to deliver the plan and to support business activation.
  • To ensure the growth and the profitability of the crops through market share increase and new products launching.

 

Market intelligence:

  • To permanently show a deep and updated knowledge of the markets on your perimeter and define the future trends and requests (agronomy, customers, consumers)
  • To animate the Development community on Market intelligence, including active benchmarking.

 

Lifecycle and Products’ management:

  • In collaboration with other divisions, to manage products life cycle and the products range at worldwide level, within the objective of turnover and margin growth, with the support of Production, Supply and Development departments.
  • To ensure successful launches of new varieties. To coordinate and follow up development plans for new products with the Breeders, the Supply and the Development teams.
  • To recommend the global positioning of the varieties (targeted markets, Rock bottom price per area, Development targets in terms of countries and customers, …).
  • To define strategic varieties and to co-build and validate the Launching plans for the new strategic products.
  • To supervise and challenge Sales business plans and forecasts with a leadership on Sales & Operations process. To maintain proactivity on stock management and actively participate to Production plans and Excess management recommendation and follow-up.
  • To be accountable of markets’ requirements in terms of quality and ensure their respect through Quality Chart.

 

Business outlooks

  • To be accountable for the overall profitability of the crops and to drive the strategy with a financial approach by monitoring the costs, the margin and the inventory level through different KPIs.
  • To support Sales teams with appropriate recommendations in terms of Go-to-market approaches, added-value pricing approaches, new concepts, commercial and technical information.

Innovation:

  • To ensure growth with innovation, by developing new concepts and new products in collaboration with Breeders and local Development & Sales teams.

 

Products’ Promotion:

  • To define, plan and control the implementation of the products’ promotional strategy for the crops, in consistency with the overall crop’s strategic plan

What we expect of you

The candidate must have a Master degree in Agriculture or in Business. Acting frequently as a project leader, the person should have a strong cross functional leadership and a change agent. He/she should know how to motivate a team, be business oriented, shaving a strategic vision; and ready to travel regularly (20% of the time). A good knowledge of the agribusiness and a previous experience in Strategic marketing is a significant plus. A minimum experience of 5 years is requested for this position.

  • Languages: Fluent in French and English is mandatory.
