Function

Purpose of the Position:

Lead Vilmorin-Mikado's operations in Brazil, ensuring the sustainable growth and profitability of the subsidiary. Develop short and long-term revenue through margin and market share in Brazil. Act as the main focal point leading the company's actions in the country. Supervise portfolio management and the launch of new varieties, monitor Brazilian market dynamics, and ensure the administrative and financial soundness of the entire local operation..

Lead the team of Sales Representatives/Product Development, Supply Chain and Customer services, to develop and generate sales growth in the country.

Provide a dynamic commercial sales policy for the overall management of the department. Manage the sales, product development, and customer service teams. Responsible for turnover, margin, operating costs, staffing and budgets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Subsidiary Management:

  • Define priorities for the subsidiary's objectives in quantitative and qualitative terms for your team; participation in projects.
  • Provide support to the field team and manage Key-Accounts with local sales team.
  • Prepare sales forecasts with the team, forecasts and budgets of the profit and loss account, income statements, financial achievement report.
  • Management of the Customer Service and Supply Chain teams, supporting qualitative and quantitative stock management, and stock replenishment decisions to achieve sales objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of the  strategic  Business Plan for the Subsidiary with the other members of management. 
  • Manage personnel costs, operating costs and investments with the Finance department.
  • Administrative and financial management of the subsidiary: manage cash flow, contacts with banks, accounting firms, insurance companies, and lawyers, ensuring compliance with accounting, legal, and social standards imposed by Brazilian legislation.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports and semi-annual closings.

Sales:

  • Manage the Sales Function including sales targets, goals and achievements.
  • Propose and implement a sales strategy and, in some cases, a product development strategy to gain market share and increase the profitability of the BU business in the country
  • Coordinate key accounts.
  • Propose and control budgets for the territory and team.
  • Coordinate pricing policy and strategy for the department.
  • Coordinate together with the Development Manager various events within the department: Sales Meetings, Product Development/Sales Training, Industry & other conventions, open field days.
  • Requires constant travel to visit clients, as well as to participate in company and/or industry-related meetings.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or similar fields.
  • Advanced English required.
  • Knowledge of French and Spanish desirable. 

Experience:

  • From 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position, such as Sales, Marketing and Development, preferable in a multinational.
