Function

Vilmorin-Mikado is looking for its Regional Finance Director for the America Unit.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing the Unit organization’s financial health by establishing strategies for long-term growth and being a trusted advisor to business leadership.

This includes:

  • Ensuring the compliance with and update organizations policies and procedures related to Finance and Tax.
  • Leading the budget and forecast process, publishing financial statements and reports including Unit Dashboard, Profit & Loss Statements, Cash Flow Statement, KPI’s and other periodic forecasts.

 

Eagerness to learn the business along with genuine curiosity of our seed and agriculture industry will be critical to succeed in this function. You will need to inspire teams to succeed through creative problem solving and in-the-moment feedback.

Main Goal

Where you will contribute:

Management and financial leadership

 

  • Manage the Unit Finance personnel in the Accounting and FP&A departments to include Accounting & Finance Managers, Finance Business Partners and Finance Associates.
  • Recommend training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives, and may recommend that personnel be hired or removed from the department.
  • Oversee external relationships with auditors, tax, and other consultants.
  • Coordinate and consult with internal (including Group Corporate Departments and sister company) HR, Tax, and Legal on various issues.
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the America Unit Committee, including day-to-day business partnering with the Unit Director, Unit HR Director and Unit Research Director.
  • Collaborate with corporate and Unit leadership teams to drive strategic planning by building financial models, establishing targets, driving performance in support of business strategies, and identifying ways to improve business results through strategic financial management principles.
  • Act as a consultant and/or be the key contact for potential corporate financial moves or projects (including JDE, Notilus, Kyriba, Basware etc).
  • Strengthen the overall financial acumen of the Unit organization by empowering people with an understanding of the ‘why’ that underlies financial decisions and ongoing management.

Job description

Leading financial reporting and management

 

  • Lead and consolidate the reporting and dashboards for financial and business review meetings that succinctly summarize key insights on historical performance as well as provide recommendations and directions on actionable insights to enable business partners to act.
  • Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including BU and Group reporting using reporting tools such as SAP Hanna/BFC, JD Edwards Excel Reporting.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual budget/forecast process.
  • Ensure that the resources, tools and processes are in place to achieve delivery in full, on time and in specification of financial reporting relative to monthly actual, rolling forecast and budget planning.
  • Support as needed with the analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget/forecast, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

 

Compliance

  •  Oversee and ensure the proper implementation, documentation of all Vilmorin-Mikado and Limagrain Group policies/procedures.
  • Ensure that each subsidiary and sales area of the America Unit perimeter complies with all legal, tax and accounting local requirements and GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with global company policies including credit, financial reporting, and other requirements.

What we expect of you

Education and/or Experience                                             

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering with Finance emphasis.
  • Fluent in English mandatory
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS and management accounting.
  • Ability to organize, coach, and lead cross-functional teams in addition to having strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively. Strong ability to present financial information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to manage and communicate a vision and think strategically, plan and organize, innovate, analyze complex data and situations, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Previous project team leadership / project management skills a plus.
  • Knowledge in Spanish, Portuguese, or French languages a plus.
