Function

Within the Hazera production team, but based in the Vilmorin-Mikado site in La Ménitré (49), both companies belonging to the Limagrain Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the supply of seeds for the Allium sector (onions and leeks) throughout France and part of Italy.

Your responsibilities: coordinate, allocate, and supervise regional seed production within Limagrain's network of farmers and with external suppliers for the production of Allium seeds. The main objective of this position is to ensure the region's production performance indicators (KPIs) in terms of costs, quantity, and quality.

 

Main Goal

For this position, we have defined four main responsibilities:

  • Animate and manage a network of producers (propagator farmers), anticipating seed/bulb needs, planning production phases and equipment requirements, providing technical support, monitoring, and crop evaluation.
  • Prospect and identify the best producers: develop the network, create new partnerships as needed, negotiate volumes and prices.
  • Ensure seed quality and traceability: crop monitoring, field and batch inspections, up to obtaining phytosanitary documents, in compliance with standards and contracts, to ensure operational excellence for our clients through key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as advice and good relationships with regulatory authorities (FNAMS).
  • Contribute to the production strategy: data analysis, contribution to the selection of acreage, producers, risk allocation, and crop placement, decision-making, and technological and competitive intelligence.

This position is based at our La Ménitré site (30 minutes from Angers and Saumur) with frequent travel to France and Italy during peak season. Remote working is possible (2 days/week). For this position, fluency in French and professional English level is required.

Job environment

Replacement in the context of a retirement.
We hope to implement a 12-month knowledge transfer (working in pair).

What we expect of you

You have a Bachelor or a Master's degree in agriculture, horticulture, or any other equivalent field. You have at least 5 years of successful field experience as a seed supplier/producer, ideally allium, seed carriers, or biennial crops. You are autonomous and will be able to organize your work (seasonality, visits, deadlines, etc.) and demonstrate good communication skills in order to adapt to the different people you meet (farmers, colleagues, institutes, etc.). As a leader, you will be able to be both diplomatic and proactive in order to successfully complete the projects entrusted to you.

  • Salary will be determined based on your profile, with a 13th month's salary paid monthly.

Recruitment process
