• Develop and refine crop models to predict plant growth, yield, and response to environmental factors.
• Collaborate with biostatisticians to design and analyze field trials data.
• Integrate genetic, phenotypic, and environmental data into crop models.
• Conduct simulations to evaluate the impact of different breeding strategies and agricultural practices.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support breeding decisions and resource management.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in crop modeling and related fields.
Job Location: Chappes, Puy de Dôme (63), France, ideally. Other locations may be possible. The workplace location will be determined based on the candidate's profile and preferences.
Contract type: 18-months fixed-term contract.

Our Biostatistics team plays a crucial role in this mission by providing data-driven insights and solutions. We are seeking a talented and motivated Crop Modelist to join our Biostatistics team. In this role, you will develop and apply crop models to support our breeding programs and optimize agricultural practices. You will work closely with biostatisticians, geneticists, and agronomists to integrate data and enhance our understanding of crop performance under various conditions.
What we expect of you
• Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Plant Physiology, applied mathematics or a related field.
• Strong background in crop modeling and simulation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python.
• Familiarity with handling large-scale data and developing biostatistical tools.
• Good Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Rigorous and detail-oriented with excellent numerical skills.Your organizational skills allow you to handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously and be responsive to requests while ensuring rigorous follow-up of your action plan.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Strong communication skills in English. French is an advantage.
