Job Description: 

Purpose of the Role

Based at Limagrain Vegetable Seeds' research center in Chappes, France, you will help design the next generation of analytical and decision-support tools used across global breeding programs.

At the crossroads of biostatistics, quantitative genetics, data science and artificial intelligence, you will develop innovative solutions enabling researchers and breeders to fully leverage genomic, phenotypic and environmental data.

You will work closely with breeding, genetics, IT and data science teams in an international environment where scientific excellence and innovation drive impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy AI and Generative AI solutions supporting breeding decisions.
  • Develop LLM-based assistants, knowledge discovery tools and advanced analytical platforms.
  • Build scalable analytical modules and dashboards tailored to breeding programs and crop species.
  • Develop innovative biostatistical and AI-driven approaches for large-scale datasets.
  • Contribute to modern data platforms and scalable environments using R, Python, Git and CONDA.
  • Support the deployment of MLOps and LLMOps practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and Data Science teams to industrialize and maintain analytical solutions.
  • Work closely with breeders, geneticists and scientists to understand needs and drive adoption.
  • Provide expertise in statistics, data science and quantitative genetics.
  • Explore innovative approaches to improve prediction, selection efficiency and data valorization.

Your Profile

 

  • MSc or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Quantitative Genetics or related field.
  • Strong statistical and analytical background.
  • Experience or strong interest in AI, Generative AI and LLM technologies.
  • Advanced R programming skills.
  • Knowledge of Git and CONDA.
  • Python experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing analytical tools, applications or decision-support systems.
  • Excellent software development practices and focus on reproducibility.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent English required.
