As Business Development Lead, you will be responsible for steering and accelerating the company’s commercial growth for our bakery and culinary portfolio. This role provides tactical leadership, people management with a dedicated team, and cross-functional alignment to build a strong customer pipeline, drive portfolio penetration, and develop new business opportunities. As a key contributor to commercial strategy, the Business Development Lead ensures consistent, profitable and sustainable growth.

Main Goal
Under the responsibility and working closely with the Head of Sales for bakery and culinary your main mission will be to:
1. Lead and Structure Business Development Activities
- Define, implement, and monitor the business development strategy for bakery and culinary across target geographies, channels, and customer groups
- Build a prioritized roadmap of growth opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic objectives, market dynamics, and innovation pipeline
- Inspire collective momentum, motivate your team, and ensure to create an environment where everyone can thrive and achieve their goals, embodying our #TORACEWITHCARE principles.
- Set clear KPIs, review progress, and cultivate a performance-driven, customer-centric culture.
2. Drive Market & Customer Growth
- Identify, engage and convert new high-potential accounts and explore white spaces, ensuring structured prospecting strategies for innovative ingredients.
- Lead the development of complex sales approaches for key market influencers, supporting long-cycle decision-making processes typical
- Support key negotiations and customer meetings, especially for strategic, high-value or sensitive new accounts.
3. Strengthen Customer Engagement & Strategic Influence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers across customer organizations (Purchasing, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Operations).
- Ensure all strategic accounts have clear account plans, development milestones and risk/opportunity assessments.
4. Coordinate and Align Internally Across Functions
- Act as a bridge between the customer voice and internal teams (R&D, Marketing, Operations, Finance).
- Lead or participate in internal committees related to pipeline management, pricing strategy, portfolio management, or innovation coordination.
- Guarantee accurate and timely reporting: CRM updates, monthly commercial performance, forecasts, pipeline reviews.
5. Lead Market Intelligence & External Representation
- In strong collaboration with Marketing department analyze market trends competitor actions, and regulatory shifts affecting target markets (Bakery, Culinary, Nutrition, etc.).
- Translate market insights into actionable recommendations for innovation, pricing, and market positioning.
- Represent the company in professional networks, trade shows, seminars, and industry events, enhancing visibility and credibility.

Job description
You will be part of an expert and dynamic sales team based in France, the Netherlands and England. You will work closely with the R&D and Marketing departments to promote and sell our ingredients to the Bakery, Culinary and Nutrition industries in B2B.
You will mainly work in France and also in Europe. The position can be based in Riom, our head office, or at home (home office) in France or the Netherlands. You are prepared to travel extensively to visit customers and our sites.
What we expect of you
- Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in B2B commercial roles, including leadership or team management.
- Demonstrated success in launching new innovative products, developing markets, and driving commercial strategies in food ingredients, food industry, in a B2B environment.
- Solid understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation challenges, and customer innovation processes. Ideally a strong knowledge of fiber benefits or vegetal proteins would be a strong plus.
- Expertise in commercial strategy, forecasting, negotiation, and contract management.
- Comfortable with CRM systems, data-driven performance management, and financial analysis.
- Strategic thinking combined with operational rigor.
- Excellent communication, influence, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to navigate complexity and drive decisions across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to speak French

Recruitment process
After reviewing your application, we may contact you for an initial phone or video interview to get to know you and confirm that your profile matches our requirements.
If your profile is selected, you will then be invited to an on-site interview with the line manager and the Human Resources Director.
A third interview with the Head of Sales and Marketing also planned, as well as with key contacts in R&D, and marketing if necessary.
Personality tests (such as PAPI) may be offered, but not systematically.
