As part of the Genome Editing Development (GE-Dev) team, you will play an important role in identifying, evaluating, and developing the next generations of genome editing tools. You will contribute to the realization of the group's technological orientations and to accelerate the transfer of innovation to varietal creation for field crop species.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface between technological innovation and concrete applications in Limagrain's main crop species.
Main Goal
The Research Officer in Genome Editing Technologies will be responsible for the following missions:
Developing the technologies of tomorrow
- Ensure active scientific and technological monitoring of innovations in genome editing and plant genome engineering.
- Identify, evaluate and integrate new technological approaches that can accelerate value creation in research programs.
- Interact closely with the Intellectual Property teams in order to secure the freedom to operate or the protection of the technological strategies developed.
- Define experimental strategies to improve the efficiency, accuracy and robustness of genome editing technologies.
- Design, conduct, carry out and interpret complex experiments in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (molecular biology, genetic transformation, bioinformatics).
- Develop innovative target publishing strategies applied in close interaction with the project managers of the Gene Discovery platform
Promoting scientific excellence
- Based on the experimental results, formulate recommendations and communicate the findings to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the dissemination of scientific knowledge within the organization.
- Participate in the transfer of validated technologies to the operational production teams.
Supervise and federate
- Supervise and develop a cloning and molecular biology team composed of an engineer and a technician who contribute to all projects led by GE-Dev.
- Coordinate cloning activities and experiments associated with projects.

What we expect of you
- Doctorate (PhD) in plant biotechnology, molecular biology, genomics or equivalent discipline.
- Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in the development or application of genome editing technologies.
- Solid research experience acquired in a high-level academic or industrial environment.
You are proficient in:
- Advanced molecular biology and genetic engineering techniques.
- Genome editing technologies (CRISPR-Cas and related technologies).
- The design of complex editing strategies and their experimental implementation.
- Analysis of experimental data and associated statistical approaches.
You are familiar with:
- Plant genetic transformation and cell biology
- Management of multidisciplinary research projects
- Regulatory constraints related to plant biotechnologies
You are a person:
- Scientifically curious and innovation-oriented.
- Capable of carrying a medium and long-term technological vision.
- Autonomous while enjoying collaborative work.
- Recognized for his scientific leadership and his ability to federate teams.
- At ease in an international and multicultural environment.

Recruitment process
- The first consists of a pre-sorting of applications by our Talent Acquisition Manager
