Function
As Agronomy & Controlled Environment Production Manager, you will lead the agronomic strategy and operational performance of our controlled-environment production facilities, including greenhouses and growth chambers. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality plant material that supports accelerated breeding programs across multiple crops while driving innovation, operational excellence, and team development.
By combining scientific expertise, operational leadership, and continuous improvement, you will ensure reliable production systems that maximize plant performance, seed production, and breeding outcomes.
Main Goal
To maximize plant performance, production reliability, and operational efficiency through optimized agronomic practices, modern technologies, and effective team leadership, supporting innovative breeding programs and the development of improved crop varieties for the future.
What we expect of you
- Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Physiology, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in greenhouse operations, controlled-environment production, breeding support, or plant production systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
- Strong understanding of crop physiology and plant-environment interactions.
- Expertise in climate control systems, crop nutrition, fertigation, irrigation, and integrated pest management.
- Experience with data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
- Strong project management and operational planning capabilities.
- Ability to lead change, drive innovation, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and team development skills.
- Fluent in both English and French.
