Maize Product Development Specialist for ultra and very-early Maize Silage and Grain
Main Goal
Product Development provides suppport for the advancement and the qualification of experimental varieties as they progress toward commercial status.
As a Maize Product Development Specialist for ultra and very-early market segments, you will become the product expert for these different market segments in Europe.
You will evolve in an international and multidisciplinary environment at the interface with different departments including Research, Marketing and Sales.
Job description
Within the Maize Marketing Team, you are responsible for activities related to the development of ultra and very early silage and grain varieties.
Your main missions are :
- Assess and qualify the new varieties through a European trial network.
- Define and optimize the product portfolio in collaboration with maize product managers in Europe.
- Participate in the new product launching process and propose the product positioning
- Anticipate the market expectations and its main evolutions
- Define and update the main breeding orientations in the different market segments of your silage and grain programs in collaboration with breeding teams.
- Participate in the new varieties selection in collaboration with the maize breeders.
- Manage the application and registration of the new varieties in your geographical area.
- Work on innovation projects.
This position requires a seasonal period of frequent travel (from Mid-August to Mid-October) for trial visits across Europe (Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, France…).
This position is based in one of our sites in North Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Poland, Denmark) and will require frequent travel in Europe.
Examples of possible locations: Rilland (NL), Greven (DE), Pocking (DE), Arras (FR), Poznan (PL).
What we expect of you
Master's degree in Agriculture/Agronomy or equivalent
You have strong knowledge in plant breeding, genetics and Agronomy.
You have skills in data analysis and results presentation.
You have a recognized leadership and very good interpersonal skills to interact with your contacts.
You also have strong organizational skills and you are able to manage cross-functional projects.
Good communication skills, enthusiasm will help you succeed in this position.
Driver's license (the job required seasonal period of travel)
Your English is operational and will allow you to evolve in an international and multicultural environment.
