Function

We are seeking an experienced Head of Production & Supply Chain with a Master’s Degree in Agronomy / Agricultural Sciences and 15+ years of experience to lead end-to-end seed supply operations, from foundation seed production to final dispatch. This leadership role will drive operational excellence, supply reliability, and collaboration across research, quality, sales, and finance functions. 

Main Goal

Lead and manage end-to-end supply chain operations including seed production, plant processing, logistics, and inventory management to ensure timely and efficient supply while maintaining high quality and operational excellence.

Job description

Organization and activities managements

  • Manage the end-to-end supply chain, including seed production, processing, packing,  logistics, and inventory control to ensure timely and cost-effective production and delivery.
  • Define the challenges and responsibilities of the teams
  • Build and monitor indicators to assess performance
  • Oversee daily operations, focusing on production efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
  • Develop and manage budgets, control costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Strong collaboration with supporting teams such as Quality, Research, Sales & Marketing, Finance, and HR.
  • Develop a close relationship with internal or external agronomic production stakeholders.

Continuous improvement and performance improvement

  • Develop the main processes and operating procedures to bring efficiency
  • Identify priority areas or processes to be improved and define objectives to be achieved
  • Ensure that the processes & standards are properly implemented
  • Set up a process review for continuous improvement
  • Set up an effective planning system and seek to systematically reduce leadtime
  • Propose improvements to information and reporting systems.
