Function

Breeding Assistant Hybridproductions Winter Oilseed Rape

Main Goal

As a Plant Breeding Assistant (m/f/d) at Limagrain you support the development of oilseed rape varieties withstable yields, robust genetics and reliable performance across varying conditions. The position offers a variedworking environment, combining hands-on fieldwork with data processing and analysis, as well ascollaboration within an international team.

Job description

To cover a parental leave, we are looking for a dedicated Plant Breeding Assistant to actively support our team.


Your main responsibilities and activities

organizing and executing hybrid production operations from sowing to harvest (isolation plots, large tents, small cages)

 

Monitoring and roguing of parental lines in hybrid production fields

 

Preparing breeding records and production lists

 

Recording line and hybrid inventories in IT databases and managing stock

 

Processing and shipping hybrid seed

 

Collecting leaf samples for molecular marker analysis and interpreting results

 

Supervising temporary staff

 

Collaborating with European breeding teams

What we expect of you

Completed degree (Bachelor's) in Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Biology or a comparable qualification
Basic knowledge of plant breeding in theory and practice
Good English skills
Strong organizational skills
Reliable, independent way of working, team spirit, flexibility and initiative
Willingness to work overtime during seasonal peak periods (sowing, flowering, harvest)
