Function

Main Goal

This role aligns with Limagrain's strategic vision to be the leading pure field seeds specialist through performing multi-crop genetics and farmer proximity by driving sustainable growth across Asia and Africa, the Business Development role supports Limagrain by establishing a robust presence in new and underserviced markets across Asia and Africa to drive sustainable growth. Achieve the short and long-term financial and operating objectives set by Limagrain (revenue and market share growth, profitability increase and cash flow). 

Job description

  • Define overall vision and business strategy aligned with Limagrain AAP goals to achieve growth and financial targets.
  • Develop short- and long-term market entry plans tailored to local conditions in Asia and Africa.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities in emerging and underserved markets; monitor competitor activity and trends.
  • Establish strong presence in high-potential markets and build partnerships with local distributors for effective market penetration.
  • Create and manage distributor networks; negotiate and formalize contracts ensuring clear commitments.
  • Prioritize crop and variety selection; source products from Limagrain’s global network and promote innovative agricultural practices.
  • Translate trial results into actionable sales opportunities; collaborate with partners to drive product adoption.
  • Build relationships with government bodies, industry associations, and farmer communities; represent Limagrain in key forums.
  • Lead execution of sales plans, monitor financial budgets, and drive revenue through strong local partnerships.
  • Manage distributor business across Asia and Africa, including customer relations, product development, trials, marketing, and pricing policies.
  • Set up operations in new markets leveraging existing networks; coordinate with internal functions for smooth execution and timely product availability.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, company policies, and sustainability goals; identify and mitigate risks in new markets.
  • Oversee local activities including trials, sales, marketing, customer service, finance, and supply chain to meet business objectives and protect company reputation.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience with sales / business development experience in an international environment.
  • Proven expertise in agri-business, preferably with experience in field crops.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages spoken in Africa and APAC regions is a strong advantage.
