QC Manager

The mission: 

To ensure a reliable, efficient, costeffective, timely, and serviceoriented Quality Control (QC) process aligned with the companys Quality Standards and Quality Policy.

Role overview

Hazera Seeds Quality Control (QC) Manager will be located in Made, the Netherlands. In this position you will be managing a team of 16 direct reports, consisting of Lab Managers, Lab Coordinators, Lab Technicians, Research and Administration. 

The unit is divided into 3 main operational labs with different expertise:

  • Germination,

  • Genetic Purity

  • Seed Health

The QC NL manager will be reporting directly to the Global Quality Control and Seed Technology Director.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and monitoring the routine testing activities in QC (NL Labs), including measurement activities.
  • Monitoring and controlling the reference documents; updating protocols and operations with relevant changes.
  • Managing all personnel activities in QC department (16 colleagues)
  • Managing work relations with other heads of departments in the company (Plant Manager, Planning Unit Manager, Customer Service Manager,  Commercial department, R&D department, Quality, Production).
  • Manage relationship with Plant Protection Authorities (in Netherlands) and other authorities.
  • Responsible for Plant Protection and inspection services
  • Communication with external laboratories and managing relations with other relevant laboratory suppliers.
  • Monitoring the unit's budget.

Candidate profile

 

  • MSc/PhD in Life Sciences/Agriculture (or equivalent working experience).

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a management role (Laboratory, Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance is an advantage)

  • Communicative, strong team player with collaborative skills (interacts with local and global teams).

  • Strong analytical thinking and excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and manage multiple internal stakeholders.

  • Promotes at all times best safety practices, positive habits and behaviors.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English language.
