Main Goal
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance Lead in ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, maintaining the integrity of accounting records, and supporting month-end closing processes. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting operations, supporting internal controls, and contributing to the preparation of financial reports and administrative needs.
Job description
- Process Accounts Payable (AP) invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Process and review employee travel expenses reports.
- Follow up with customers on collections to ensure timely accounts receivable (AR) management.
- Prepare monthly travel and auto expense reports of employees.
- Perform banking reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash balances.
- Record payroll and related expenses journal entries.
- Calculate and post depreciation journal entries.
- Manage accruals for vacations, bonuses, and other liabilities.
- Offset AP/AR intercompany balances when necessary.
- Prepare banking payment instructions and ensure compliance with authorization policies.
- Draft and manage administrative correspondences as required.
- Support the Finance Lead in preparing month-end closing reports.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Control operating expenses against approved budgets.
- Analyze Profit & Loss statements and monitor margins.
- Maintain and update accounting procedures and records in compliance with local and international standards.
What we expect of you
- University degree in Accounting.
- At least 5 years progressive accounting experience, preferably exposure to AP, AR, Payroll, Bank reconciliations.
- Experience working with multinational companies and handling intercompany transactions is a plus.
- Familiarity with local tax and labor laws is an advatage.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Strong sense of ethics, integrity and confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in accounting softwares – eg. Quickbooks, SAP, Oracle or similar
- Familiarity with Microsoft office tools.
- Proficiency in Excel is a must.
- Knowledge of banking platforms, payment preparation and execution.
Comments
- Work hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00
- Willing to flexibility of tasks and working hours, as needed to meet business requirements.
- One day per week, remote work will be allowed, subject to prior cordination and approval of direct manager.
