Job Description: 

Function

As a Breeding Assistant in the R&D unit of Hazera, you will work closely with the Breeder and gain exposure to various markets, commercial perspectives, and decision-making processes. You will also learn to manage extensive cross-functional interfaces within a large global organization.

Job description

  • Implement breeding programs, including sowing, planting, and laboratory tests.
  • Support field observations and selections both locally and internationally.
  • Train and supervise technicians and seasonal workers.
  • Responsibility for all breeding support activities.
  • Collaborate with local farmers and growers.
  • Document, report, and monitor plant development in breeding plots.
  • Track pollination team activities and perform pollinations in special programs.
  • Maintain breeding software systems (field lists, lab tests, seed inventory, etc.).
  • Coordinate with company laboratories and monitor test results.
  • Working hours: 06:00 – 15:00.

What we expect of you

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Agriculture or Life Sciences.
  • Valid driver’s license – mandatory.
  • High level of English – mandatory.
  • Background in genetics, molecular biology, and plant physiology – advantage.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical programming – an advantage.
  • Motivation for a role combining fieldwork with office tasks.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel abroad 2–3 times per year.
