Job description
You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:
•Familiarize with production practices of raising hybrid seed corn.
•Participate in herbicide trials and identify herbicide damage.
•Visit production fields to gather pictures for hybrid information sheets.
•Observe inbred trials in the Production Research and Stock Seed nursery.
•Meet with production personal about different issue involved in seed production of each variety.
•Enter data into Excel and Access files.
•Possible travel outside the Treasure Valley that may involve overnight stay.
•Participation in Foundation Seed hand pollinations as needed.
•Complete assigned tasks in a timely, efficient, safe and effective manner.
•At the end of employment prepare a summary and possible presentation of what was learned and a perspective on the seed industry.
•Work outdoors in high heat and walk in uneven surfaces found in seed production fields. Tolerance to corn pollen is required.
•Participate in monthly Safety Training and Meetings.
•Licensed and able to drive a company vehicle.
Job Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
•Currently working on a plant science degree.
•This position requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, as they will be part of a team.
