Job description
You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:
• Supports station operations in a daily basis
• Assist in coordinating tray sowings for greenhouse germination as requested
• Assisting with preparing fields for planting, which may include germination count and field marking
• Support crop pollination and harvest execution as needed
• Assists in seed extraction, disinfection and drying following seed health and safety operational standards
• Collaborate in seed packaging, seed filling and set organizing for new plantings
• Work alongside and supervise contract laborers conducting routine operational activities, and special tasks as weeding and plant removal if required
• Perform housekeeping duties that includes cleaning, organizer, equipment maintenance, at the end of the work done
• Adopt and promote workplace safety standards, rules, regulations and practices to make of the workplace a safe place to work
• Require the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform repetitive tasks
Actively support the station Illness and Injury Prevention Plan – assist in and attend periodic safety training and courses.
What we expect of you
To be considered, you will need:
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience/knowledge (1-3+ years)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Basic computer skills will Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
• Experience working in agriculture
• Basic math comprehention
