Job description

You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to: 

· Separate and process seed samples with an emphasis of maintaining sub-sample identity and consistency in sample preparation.

· Prepare growth media, buffers and stock solutions for the culture of microorganisms following specific written procedures.

· Assist in conducting seed health testing in traditional assays and molecular based assays following established written work instructions.

· Plant and maintain test seedlings under controlled environment.

· Must be comfortable working in a laboratory setting governed by formal, written procedures that must be strictly followed.

· Complete assigned tasks in a timely, efficient, safe and effective manner.

· Participate in the inventory management of materials and chemical products.

· Maintain laboratories in a clean, safe and organized manner.

· Participate in monthly Safety Training and Meetings.

What we expect of you

To be considered, you will need: 

Associate degree required.

B.S. Degree in Plant Pathology, Plant Science or biology is preferred, however, candidates with equivalent working experience will be considered.

A working knowledge of plant disease and seed health testing experience on vegetable seeds will be an asset.

This position requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, as they will be part of a team.

o    This position’s range is $18.50 - $23/hr
Our total compensation and pay ranges reflect our market pay structures.  As such, individual salaries or hourly rates are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: local geographical market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as job related skills, education, and experience.
