Job description

You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to: 

· Daily interaction and coordination of activities with personnel from multiple areas of the business including Production, Quality Control, Research & Breeding and Operations.

· Responsible for developing seed handling and storage practices to improve seed shelf life and seed quality.

· Troubleshoot technical problems that arise in plant operations, seed production, and customer complaints.

o These activities may include anything from answering technical questions, researching past literature, conducting small experiments, etc.

· Short term research or technical activities to improve existing processes in operations or in seed production.

· Help to design, implement, analyze, and sometimes fund, field research conducted by the Seed Production department.

· Test new third-party seed enhancement products and polymers for operations. Test seed safety with new seed treatments.

· Develop new seed priming techniques as needed; develop protocols for new machinery purchased by the company

· Long term research activities may include the following:

o Lead and manage longer-term, higher-risk projects aimed at increasing the likelihood of producing high-quality seed.

o Drive the development of innovative techniques and methodologies to enhance seed quality and production.

o Develop novel added-value products to strengthen and enhance the company’s brand.

o Spearhead the creation of simple, user-friendly techniques for breeders to select inbreds that are genetically predisposed to produce the highest quality seed.

o Innovate and implement strategies for breeders to select inbreds that simplify flowering control for seed production.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and alignment with company goals

What we expect of you

To be considered, you will need: 

· Master’s degree in seed agronomy, physiology, crop physiology or horticulture (PhD preferred)

· 2-5 years’ experience in Seed Industry or other Agronomic/Horticulture Industries

HM.CLAUSE offers a strong compensation and benefits package to its employees:
•    Competitive salary
o    This position’s range is $84,000 - $104,000
Our total compensation and pay ranges reflect our market pay structures.  As such, individual salaries or hourly rates are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: local geographical market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as job related skills, education, and experience.
