Job description

You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to: 

•    To demonstrate the level of a “crop expert” for crops assigned.  This would include but not be limited to crop production knowledge, market knowledge, farming knowledge and industry trends as to understand the role of genetics or breeding as a marketable solution.  Information obtained by this position will feed directly to the breeding and marketing teams to help refine their strategy.
•    To create and manage a strategic trial plan of assigned crops and/or regions presented during the pretrial planning meeting. 
•    To manage the pretrial planning meeting with completed pretrial planning documents prior to the meeting with all relevant information that will drive the conversations during the meetings.
•    To work directly with the RTSGC to validate the requested trial plan via the Resource Planner tool and will communicate directly with the breeding teams any needed resource reallocation plans.
•    •To review Resource Planner WOs with RTSGC after validation during every semestral campaign.
•    •To manage the off-station screening trial efforts by leading grower meetings to complete the R&D trial grower agreements prior to transplantation or sowing of the assigned trial sets.
•    •To manage the following as related to assigned trials by managing sowing in the greenhouse/direct sowings, monitoring seedling health, recording and reporting germination to breeding team, preparing plot labels, managing the transplant and evaluation.
•    To manage communication with the breeding team throughout the life cycle of the trial by providing updates on a schedule as determined in the pre-trial planning meetings.
•    To manage the preloading of data into SCORE tool for their trials .
•    To support the breeding teams and PM in updating and keep current the Product Profiles of assigned crops
•    To collect, to review and to share market information of assigned crops to include (but not limited to): acreage, market characteristics and value
•    To collect and to review assigned crops market information to include (but not limited to): Main commercial competitors, strengths and weakness of main competitor varieties.
•    To represent the RTS team at invited HMC and LVS sponsored events. 

What we expect of you

To be considered, you will need:

• BA or BS degree in Agriculture or Related Field 
• 4-6 years previous trialing experience and experience working with growers, experience with regional vegetable crop production and cropping methods
