Function

R & D - Operations

Main Goal

Implement and executes management protocols and monitoring crop activities under the responsibility of R & D Operations to meet volume, quality and timelines set by the Ops & breeding.

Job description

 

  • Expert responsible for crop agronomy in Open field & Polyhouse (crop conduct, crop protection, irrigation, fertigation, nursery management, Postharvest activities etc) on R&D site 
  • Provide guidance to technical team while maintaining collaborative and productive relationship with clients (breeders, support functions)
  • Provides input to Station Manager/Agronomy Manager for weekly planning of field and greenhouse activities
  • Works in compliance with company internal and local Health and Safety regulations
  • Define and follow work protocols and processes agreed with breeders.
  • Support in data recording in the R & D Analytical tools / as assigned by the manager
  • Follow guidelines of SHIELD internal phytosanitary protocol at R & D site

Ensure efficient use of resources and drive new technologies/innovation through mechanization, integrated pest management, new fertigation/irrigation techniques. Other duties that may be assigned are Resistance management, sustainable soil management, biological pest control, new pest control applications methods, smart irrigation systems etc

What we expect of you

Preferably a Postgraduate in Agriculture with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience or more in R & D Operations or similar field; basic command of English; good computer skills.
