Main Goal
As part of the Marketing team, you will be accountable for driving sales growth of the Cucurbit and Pepper portfolio through the definition and execution of crop strategies. You will lead the global strategic direction for specific PMCs of these crops while owning Product Management for the whole portfolio in AMEA region, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
Working closely with R&D, Sales, and other support functions, you will monitor market dynamics, identify trends, and translate customer and market needs into product and portfolio decisions. Based in the Israeli hub, you will take a leading role in cross-functional processes to ensure the portfolio is well represented, while driving continuous improvements to deliver products on time and with high quality. Your efforts will strengthen our commitment to key stakeholders and support sustained customer satisfaction.
Job description
Market Analysis and Crop Strategy: Define and recommend the Cucurbit and Pepper Crop Strategies and drive their execution across the company, including ambition setting, market share targets, action plans, follow-up, and corrective actions.
- Provide strategic direction to regional Breeding programs by defining mid- and long-term breeding objectives and product specifications for targeted markets; support breeding projects in line with approved product definitions.
- Lead Product Definition activities by creating and maintaining product profiles for each Product Market Combination.
- Assess the Pipeline and recommend new varieties for transition from breeding into Development and Commercialization.
- Act as a Market Intelligence reference by maintaining deep and up-to-date knowledge of crop trends, agronomy, customer needs, and future market requirements.
Product Development and Sales Support: Coordinate Sales and Development teams to deliver the plan and to support business activation.
- Develop and implement Product Development trial plans with breeders and PD teams based upon market knowledge and portfolio objectives.
- Assess trial results to determine product performance and right positioning.
- Support Sales and Development teams with appropriate recommendation in terms of Go-to-market approaches, added-value pricing approaches, new concepts, commercial and technical information.
- Own the Product Advancement Platforms within your market scope through visits and/or seasonal follow-up meetings; schedule conclusion meetings with clear action plans and deliverables; and organize PMC meetings.
- Challenge commercial forecasts of current portfolio as well as New Product Introductions with the respective marketing tools.
- Take accountability on communication messages for your regional scope and to ensure suitable plans, to supervise their implementation in collaboration with Marcom, PD and Sales teams.
Portfolio Management: Manage the global Cucurbit and Pepper portfolio to ensure long-term profitability, overseeing product life-cycle decisions aligned with turnover and margin growth objectives.
- Recommend global variety positioning in close collaboration with your peers, including target markets, minimum pricing thresholds per area, and development priorities by country and customer.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Breeding, Seed Technology, Production, Supply, Quality Control, and Finance to optimize portfolio performance and operational excellence.
- Serve as the dedicated portfolio liaison with Israel Headquarters, acting as the on-site focal point to represent and coordinate the Cucurbit and Pepper team on all portfolio-related topics.
- Proactively manage stock levels by contributing to production release plans and leading excess inventory management recommendations and follow-up.
- Represent market requirements related to product quality and ensure compliance with Commercial Product Quality Standards.
What we expect of you
- Minimum a bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the vegetable seed industry, with exposure to product management, breeding, seed development, and/or sales.
- Proven ability to think strategically while remaining execution-oriented in a complex, cross-functional environment.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence decision-making across functions and regions without direct authority.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
- Languages: English essential; Spanish is a plus.
- Computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills along with a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
- Experience working in multicultural and international environments, with the flexibility to adapt to diverse markets and cultures, as well as being able to demonstrate good teamwork skills.
